Aran Wrap or Shawl Knitting Pattern and Kit

Designer Harriet Haernert says: " This pattern is perfect for both the knitter new to Aran designs and for the expert. It uses only 3 different stitch combinations explained in detail in the directions. I first made this wrap in 1974, and use it year-round—summer for air-conditioned movies and restaurants, winter for driving, and spring and fall for an outside garment. My grandchildren call it “Nana’s night-night” as it goes everywhere with me.”

The wrap is 64” long requiring 6 skeins of worsted weight yarn. If the prospective wearer is over 5’8”, she suggests making the wrap 68 inches, requiring 7 skeins. Gauge is 4 sts per inch on #10 circular needle.

Kit includes your color choice Marr Haven Yarn worsted weight and pattern. 64 inch length is $55.00, the 68 inch length is $63.50.

Special thanks to Brenda Kragt, a beginning knitter, she found it easier to follow the pattern by putting each stitch on a chart, then color coded the various stitches. Her chart is now included in the pattern.
