![]() | The Kalamazoo Knits company says "Kool-Aid© is great but Wilton© takes the cake when dyeing your yarn". For those of you who want to try dyeing with a food safe product first to see how much you will enjoy the process, this set of instructions by Kelly Jensen is perfect. The step by step instructions explain how to prepare your yarn for dyeing, exactly what materials you need, how to prepare the Wilton© colors, how to apply the colors to your yarn and how you set the color with heat from your microwave. Most of the materials are things you already have in your kitchen; the exceptions might be gloves so you don't color your hands and 1" sponge paint brushes (1 for each color). Color pictures like the one at the bottom right of the page to the left show you the mechanics of laying the yarn out, applying the color, preparing the yarn for the microwave and hanging the dyed yarn. Explanations are also under each picture to make each step easy to follow. Wilton Cake Frosting Colors are available at most supermarkets. Wilton Yarn Dyeing Instructions $5.00 |
