Sue Kann, Janet Kaboli and Kim Van Meter were the co-teachers for the Summer Enrichment Program called Fiber Camp at Willowwind School in Iowa City, Iowa. Sue sent us wonderful pictures to share showing the students success with dyeing yarn, learning to knit and felt.

students used Marr Haven Natural, Light Grey and Medium Grey
wool yarn . The same dye bath gives a different shade to the 3 yarns because
of the natural colored (dark) wool in the Light Grey and Medium Grey. You can see in the pictures below a wonderful array of colors. | ![]() |

During the second week of Fiber Camp, they learned to felt and made butterflies, felted bowls or pouches and felted soap (soap and washcloth together). They also dyed the wools for the felting projects using natural white batts and a Merino-Rambouillet fleece from our flock. See the next page for pictures of the felting week.
