Traditional wet felt making uses water, soap and agitation to form a fabric item. Needle felting is a newer technique which uses dry wool and felting needle.

for general felting. 38 gauge star point has more sides, faster than 36, more resistant to breaking than 40. 40 gauge triangle is for fine fiber and detail. |

Many customers report they prefer having a different felting tool for the different sizes of felting needles. You can remove and/or replace any or all of the felting needles in each tool so if you want to use less than the tool is designed for, it is okay and easy to change.
