||HomeFelting needles are very sharp and need a dense, soft base under the fiber to protect yourself and the needle. These forms are made of commercially dense soft foam. There are 3 hat forms, a round base form and rectangular form.
Now you can buy one size hat form and get both the tall and the short form in one hat! Isn't that wonderful? The hats are now cut so that you can simply attach the extender to the short crown of the hat with a felting needle or T-tack and have a tall hat form. The extender is approximately 2 inches taller. The hat forms are rounded on one end and straight on the other to give you variety in designs. You can see the rounded top in the picture below of a hat form sitting on the round base. Hat forms sizes: Small is for heads measuring 20-21 inches, about hat size 7.. Medium Medium form is for heads measuring 21-22.5 inches, about hat size 7 1/4. Large is for heads measuring 22-23.5 inches, about hat size 7 3/8 Each hat form is $20.00. | The hat form with extender allows enough height to cover the ears or turn up an edge as shown in the pattern picture below. The hat forms without extender will make brimmed hats using the round base. See the hat form sitting on the round base in the picture below. |
