Finally, books of patterns for Hairpin Lace Looms, aka Crochet Fork.
![]() | The
5 design patterns are made with worsted weight yarn and an adjustable hairpin
lace loom. The first two pages have very good information about the gauge, the
braid strip with very complete directions and illustrations on making a Basic
Braid; including how to end it. Each afghan pattern is marked with the Skill Level; the first is marked EASY, meaning they are made with basic stitches, repetitive stitch patterns with simple color changes and simple shaping and finishing. The other 4 are marked INTERMEDIATE, which means they use a variety of techniques, such as basic lace patterns or color patterns, mid-level shaping and finishing. Size I, J or H hook is suggested, the sizes range from 42 in. by 57 in. up to 45 x 70. The 16 page book also includes Abbreviations, Skill Level Chart, Standard Yarn Weight System, Stitch Guide and Metric Conversion Charts for inches into millimeters and centimeters plus hook conversion from US sizes to MM Continental sizes. Hairpin Lace Afghans book is $6.95 |
| Four of the designs are
shown on the cover above, the first pattern marked EASY is the green 3 color stripe
shown on the rocking chair, the middle small picture. It uses 18 oz. (1260 yards)
of the main color plus 6 oz. (420 yards) of two contrast colors. With our Marr
Haven worsted wt. yarn, you would only need 6 skeins of the main color and
2 skeins each of the two contrast colors. The design uses open loop strips, twisted
loops and basic braid strips. The afghan shown on the right is one of the larger size patterns and takes 25 oz. (1750 yards) main color yarn, plus 10 oz. (700 yards) each of two contrast colors. That would be 9 skeins of Marr haven worsted weight yarn main color and 4 skeins each of the two contrast colors. The basic crochet stitches of SC and Ch 1 are combined with the basic braid strips to make this afghan. Another book is "MY CROCHET
TEACHER" We also have
