Knit It Kit for Kids

The book included is only 4 3/4 inches wide by 6 inches tall but its 35 pages are packed with information about different types of knitting needles and other "tools" of knitting, yarns and fiber content of yarns, skeins and dye lots.

The knitting instruction starts with finger knitting, a fun exercise for kids as well as adults. The steps of knitting: cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch are explained in text and drawings, also a stitch sampler, basketweave stitch, increasing, decreasing, how to make buttonholes with inc & dec and binding off. The next part of the book explains blocking, sewing and weaving in ends. The last section is called a "Goof Proof Guide"; how to fix dropped stitches, gaps and other knitting tragedies.

Two mini hanks of yarn with plastic circular needles are included plus 10 projects printed on heavy card stock with picture on the front and directions inside. Four of the projects are shown on the cover, the rest are shown below.
