the Ram is a stuffed sheep about 13 1/2 inches long
by 13 inches tall with horns. He has Aran patterned "fleece"
in natural color with dark legs and face. Designer Rita O'Connell says the skill
level is advanced to adventurous intermediate knitter. The pattern is a 5 1/2"
by 8 1/2" booklet, 23 pages including the stitch charts, hand drawn graphics
showing knitting directions and text with row by row instructions. See his mate,

![]() | The original Sam was knit with 2 sets of size 4 double point needles, a 16" or 24" circular sz 4 can be used for part of the body of the sheep, but 6-7 DP needles are needed for the first few rows because of sharp angles of the head. When finished, he is stuffed with 16 ounces of roving or fiberfill which is not included in the kit. He can also be knit with worsted weight yarn and size 7 needles. the same as for Sam, size 4 DP for the sport yarn or size 7 for the worsted yarn.
A triangular shawl pattern is included, a finer yarn that sport is suggested if

FELT FLOCK, you can have Sheep; no inappropriate baa-ing nor hay to
feed. You knit the animal with approximate gauge of 13-14 st = 1 inch, size 10-10
1/2 needle. Felt in a washing machine , dry and stuff it. The amount of felting
will determine the finished size of the sheep. Marr Haven wool yarn does take longer to felt than commercial wool yarns because it is 100% fine grade wool. |
