Suzanne Pufpaff designed this instruction set, Simple Knitting with Roving Projects, as a primer to learn to knit with roving. She has detailed information about roving requirements, how to knit with it and how to felt and full the knitted item.

There are 4 patterns included, boots, slippers, vase and a fun pelt to use as a seat cushion or child's toy. See the vase we knit from our lambswool roving.
Simple Knitting with Roving Projects, 9 pages is $5.00

The Knit Roving then Felt Bag, Clogs and Rug patterns, by Suzanne Pufpaff, were featured in Spin Off magazine.
A Felt Bag Knitted from Roving, can be made with approximately one pound of unspun roving. Large size needles, she used circular size 17 below, makes them knit very quickly. You felt them in the washing machine to a finished size about 12 inches wide and 8 inches deep. Pattern is $5.00

The Felt Clogs Knitted from Roving has directions for 4 sizes, ladies shoe size 6, 8 or 10 and men's size 13. Approximately 3/4 to 1 pound of "medium weight" roving per pair.
Pattern is $5.00

The Felted Rug is knit in units, all in garter (knit) stitch so it will not curl. Two pounds of medium sized roving knit on size 15 0r 17 needle will make a rug about 2 foot by 4 foot.

Knit Roving and Felt Teddy Bear: The 3 bears in the picture were all made with this pattern. The difference in size is created by using different size and types of roving. The pink bear, 24 inches tall, is from a 50/50 wool alpaca blend. The little brown bear, 12 inches tall, is from 100% llama roving which was thinner in diameter. The white bear is from a 66/34 alpaca/wool roving.

Each pattern comes with one 36 gauge felting needle that may be used after the bear is felted to create eye and nose and soles on the bottom of the feet. One bear takes 3/4 to 1 1/4 pound of roving, additional 3/4 lb. for stuffing (not included).
Pattern is $5.00
