The pink and green scarf on the left was one of my first scarves felted with a felting needle. It was worn considerably, has been handled in the shop and still looks good. Only one ounce of roving was used; it is very light weight and drapey.

The vest is made of two scarves with 3 1/2 ounces of roving needle felted on them.

Another idea for the needle felted silk scarf is to make it into a purse as these below; the lining is already there.

The silk gauze used for wet felting is too fragile for the felting needles.

The scarf may be dyed which adds an interesting background color. The dyed scarf allows you to use very little fiber, perfect to try out the expensive fibers in small amounts; you don't need to cover the full scarf. See more information on the Jacquard Dyes.
